THE New York Giants were defeated by the Washington Commanders, 27-22, Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium, dropping their record to 2-7 this season.
The loss, coupled with several other crazy results around the league, moved the Giants up in the 2025 NFL Draft order. They are currently projected to select No. 7 overall, according to Tankathon.
The results of a Monday Night Football The match between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4) and the Kansas City Chiefs (7-0) will not impact the top of the standings.

The Giants are believed to be targeting a top-tier quarterback next April, but they may need to move up the order if they want to target a safer pick. This is of course assuming they end up staying at 7th overall.
The problem facing general manager Joe Schoen and the Giants is that pundits and analysts view this quarterback draft class as worse than the 2024 class. If team scouts feel the same way, that leaves the Giants in a precarious position.
But there is still half a season left and a lot can change. For now, the Giants should be in the top 10 again, which seems to be the norm.
