THE Carolina Panthers maybe grab even more firepower from the edge.
As announced by the team Monday morning, outside linebacker Amaré Barno has been designated to return to practice. The 25-year-old defender, who tore his ACL in last year’s Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers, has been on the physically unable to perform list since the start of the season regular.
Barno was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Blythewood, South Carolina native has since appeared in 24 games for the Panthers, amassing 30 combined tackles (three for a loss) and 2.0 sacks.
The Panthers, who have struggled to maintain a consistent pass rusher rotation in 2024, just got outside linebacker DJ Wonnum back from his quad injury. Wonnum made his team debut in the Week 10 win over the New York Giants, where he recorded six tackles and a sack.
