The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its 25 modern-era semifinalists for the 2025 class and former Arizona State stars Terrell Suggs, Eric Allen and Darren Woodson were selected.
But those aren’t the only Arizona connections on the list.
Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin is also a semifinalist, as is Hines Ward, the current Arizona State wide receivers coach.
Last month, the Hall of Fame’s Modern Era Player Selection Committee narrowed the list of 167 Hall of Fame nominees to 50, with those 50 reduced to 25 with Wednesday’s announcement.
There will be 15 modern-era players named finalists for the award before the Super Bowl, with players needing at least 80 percent of the vote in the annual selection committee vote to enter the Hall of Fame.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025 will be announced at the “NFL Honors” show in New Orleans in February and enshrined in August in Canton.
